Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) who experience voices or other unusual/distressing experiences labeled ‘psychosis’ are often in need of information and support. The Bay Area Hearing Voices Network is proposing a project specifically for TAY (defined as young adults aged 16-26) that will integrate the hearing voices approach across the Alameda County TAY system of care.
The proposed BAHVN TAY program will provide evidence-informed training and consultations for providers, families, and community members. It will also hold in-person and online groups and workshops, and generate resource development. Our proposal will present a deliverables table that follows Alameda County’s results-based accountability framework and will include a rigorous evaluation plan. BAHVN is also proposing that a social media platform specifically geared toward TAY and moderated by BAHVN-trained facilitators be developed. The platform will be accessible to TAY 24/7, allowing them to come out of isolation, ask questions, discuss their experiences, learn about resources, and engage with other young people who hear voices or have other unusual experiences.
Please help fund the development of the BAHVN TAY proposal.
